About

I have always loved to cook. The spices are what drew me in at first. I loved smelling the different aromas from the kitchen as ingredients were blending together to make something fantastic. Combining new flavors and experimenting with ingredients is a passion that has developed over time. I was never that interested in baking. It wasn't until four years ago when I discovered my allergy to gluten that I found out how much fun baking can be. I tried all the pre-made mixes out there for gluten-free baked goods, and all of them ended up tasting rather gross...so over the years I found different flours (almond, coconut, hazelnut, chickpea, flax, just to name a few), that weren't nasty. At first I couldn't find gluten-free recipes that used anything other than rice flour, potato starch, and other things that, while gluten-free, were not exactly that much better than regular wheat flour (health wise at least). So instead, I started just using my old recipes and experimenting (like my experiments in cooking) with trading out the all-purpose flour for these alternate flours, and mixing different ratios. Some turned out horribly and some turned out delicious (but looked rather ugly). My husband, friends and family have been encouraging me to share my delicious recipes with them, which brings me to why I have decided to create this blog. You will find the yummy recipes on here, as well as some of my newer creations. I am by no means a professional baker/cook. It's just something that brings me joy and brings happiness and full bellies to others. I hope you enjoy the different flavors and have fun trying them out. Remember, things don't always have to look perfect, they just have to be delicious.

Happy experimenting!
